The Design Review Panel (www.designreviewpanel.co.uk) were instructed by East Devon District Council (EDDC) to provide multidisciplinary, expert, independent and impartial guidance and feedback to the local authority, applicant and design team during the pre-application design stage.

Martin Douglas

Urban Designer

Martin has a degree in Landscape Architecture and a Masters degree in Urban Design. He has a wide range of development experience: from concept design and promotion of urban extensions; through illustrative masterplans and outline applications; to detailed proposals, tenders and town centre regeneration projects. Martin has strong graphic ability, including hand-drawing, and is skilled in putting together a variety of design documents. He has also helped to run training courses on Design and Access Statements and Manual for Streets to Welsh local authorities. Martin sits on the Design Review Panel for the south west. Martin was previously employed as an Associate Urban Designer at Barton Willmore for 7 years and a Senior Urban Designer at RPS (formerly MRP) for 3 years. Beforehand he enjoyed time with Colin Buchanan and Partners as a Graphic/Urban Designer and various other posts including marketing designer and community artist.
