Amos Goldreich

Chartered Architect

Following graduation from the Architectural Association in London in 1999, I worked for a variety of high-profile London architecture practices, including David Chipperfield, Stanton Williams, Haworth Thompkins and Feilden Clegg Bradley Studios. Through my involvement in a comprehensive range of diverse projects in the UK and abroad at different scales I gained
extensive experience covering all sectors — residential, commercial, cultural, and educational. In 2010, I established Amos Goldreich Architecture, developing projects in close collaboration with
clients and end users, to create buildings and places which have a positive impact on people’s lives and are a joy to experience.

Through my involvement in a wide range of diverse projects in the UK and abroad at different scales for a variety of high-profile architecture practices, including David Chipperfield, Stanton
Williams, Haworth Thompkins and Feilden Clegg Bradley Studios, I gained extensive experience covering all sectors — residential, commercial, cultural, and educational. In 2010, I established Amos Goldreich Architecture, developing predominantly residential projects in close
collaboration with clients and end users, to create buildings and places which have a positive
impact on people’s lives and are a joy to experience.

I am passionate about charitable and social projects, working closely with homelessness
charities and I am part of the think tank Architects Aware, which is pursuing solutions for London’s growing homelessness crisis. Amos Goldreich Architecture has designed one of the few
purpose-built shelters for victims of domestic violence in Israel – and internationally – with input from staff to address the specific needs of its residents. The shelter provides a home away from home, where people from different backgrounds can come to terms with their individual traumas
and rebuild their lives and receive guidance and support during a key period of transition. We
hope our practice demonstrated what can be done with limited funding and the challenging demands of a range of stakeholders.

In my view, architecture is about people – the individual end-user – and not a preoccupation with
a preferred style. My ambition is to first understand the particular characteristics and challenges of the project to achieve an individual design response to the client’s needs and ambitions always delivered with an acute sense of empathy and pragmatism. Much of my work has a strong
humanitarian focus – always aware of the positive and progressive values that buildings can
deliver to people and communities. We are delivering high-quality sustainable and low-carbon designs based on innovative new and sustainable materials and techniques or the inventive use of traditional ones as an essential part of the design process.
