Extra Care Development by Sarah Wigglesworth Architects

Pegasus Life secured planning permission through public inquiry for a Sarah Wigglesworth Architects scheme for a C2 assisted living community at The Knowle, Sidmouth, Devon. The Design Review Panel (www.designreviewpanel.co.uk) were instructed by East Devon District Council (EDDC) to provide multidisciplinary, expert, independent and impartial guidance and feedback to the local authority, applicant and design team during the pre-application design stage.

We offer both 'in-person' and online sessions. 

Site visits can be carried out 'in-person' or online using 360 degree virtual photographic tours (click here to see an example).Sessions should be booked using our online booking system.

The Design Review Panel is committed to providing independent and multidisciplinary design review panel feedback to customers in an open, fair, impartial, and timely manner.

Our promises to you – we will:

  • Be helpful and polite, and treat you with courtesy and respect at all times;

  • Listen and respond to your concerns, apologize for and learn from our mistakes, and use your feedback to improve how we do things where possible;

  • Provide feedback as efficiently and as quickly as possible;

  • Make guidance available to help you understand the process;

  • Endeavour to ensure we have appropriate experts with the right level of experience and expertise at each design review panel session;

  • Make well-reasoned and informed decisions across all areas of business;

In return – we ask that you:

  • Read and follow the guidance we make available and let us know if anything is unclear;

  • Provide the necessary and relevant information to present your design proposals in a succinct and accurate manner;

  • Use our online service or communicate with us electronically whenever possible;

  • Understand that you may not receive the feedback that you want;

  • Understand that the feedback given is opinion and suggestion given by a Panel of volunteers and does not constitute professional advice;

  • Treat our staff and volunteer Panel members with courtesy and respect, and accept that we will not tolerate rude or abusive behaviour in any form of communication;

  • Let us know if our service to you falls short and give us the opportunity to put that right;

  • Understand that we cannot (a) advise you on how to design your project (b) provide planning policy advice (c) provide legal advice or (d) change a feedback document once it has been issued.
