Jon Garner
Chartered Ecologist
Jon has been a Director at GE since 2013 in which time he has led the company from a team of two to what is today one of the most respected ecological consultancies in the south west.
As an experienced Ecologist Jon has overseen a multitude of projects including those in the residential, commercial, utilities, energy, minerals and public sectors. Contributing to planning, survey, ecological design, impact assessment, HRA, consultation and representing clients as an expert witness.
Jon’s strengths lie in the design of ecological mitigation & enhancement with a particular focus on Biodiversity Net Gain having been involved in trials and consultation during the emergence of this principle. Jon has recently been consulting on the production of emerging policy “Devon Planning Guidance for Biodiversity Compensation and Net Gain”.
Jon has considerable experience of survey and mitigation techniques for a range of protected species with a specialism for badgers having been the license holder on a range of complex sett closures and live digs
