Pegasus Life secured planning permission through public inquiry for a Sarah Wigglesworth Architects scheme for a C2 assisted living community at The Knowle, Sidmouth, Devon. The Design Review Panel (www.designreviewpanel.co.uk) were instructed by East Devon District Council (EDDC) to provide multidisciplinary, expert, independent and impartial guidance and feedback to the local authority, applicant and design team during the pre-application design stage.

As a Chartered Landscape Architect and Urban Designer, Peter brings 30 years of experience on large-scale, multidisciplinary projects in the UK and internationally. His background in environmental sciences and decades of practical expertise allow him to lead the practice with a strong focus on creativity, social impact, environmental responsibility, and commercial viability.

Peter's approach revolves around the belief that well-designed spaces can greatly enrich people’s lives, boost local economies, and enhance environmental sustainability. His design philosophy emphasises the distinctiveness of each site, requiring a thoughtful process to craft solutions that celebrate the unique characteristics of every location. His strength lies in turning visionary concepts into expertly delivered outcomes that meet client objectives, focusing on innovative design and strategic thinking.

Under Peter's leadership, Colour offers an experienced, dynamic, and reliable service across the UK and globally, delivering restorative landscapes that reconnect people with nature. His passion for sustainable and environmentally integrated development is evidenced by his early work on Zero Carbon Landscape Design in 1995.

Peter is a recognised leader in Active Design, having worked with Sport England on their Active Design guidance and delivered case studies such as Loughborough University's active campus. He has also presented at major events like the Why Sports conference at the Royal Society for Medicine in London.

Throughout his career, Peter has been involved in notable projects such as planting his first urban forest in 1990, winning Newcastle’s Lord Mayor’s Award for 55 Degrees North, contributing to the masterplan for the London 2012 Olympics, and creating landscape strategies for international projects, including Qatar’s global sports event in 2022. His work has garnered significant accolades, including the Landscape Institute’s ‘Best Large Scale Development’ award for the £400m Royal Stoke University Hospital.
