In 2004, Daniel Leon founded Square Feet with the vision of approaching design in a unique way. Our compact yet highly skilled team boasts a history of innovative and practical design solutions. We prioritise building enjoyable and productive relationships with clients and experts, including interior designers, craftspeople, and engineers, ensuring our projects succeed through genuine dialogue.
Before establishing Square Feet, Daniel's journey took him through educational and professional experiences in Liverpool, Seattle, Manchester, Sydney, and London. He worked with renowned firms like Levitt Bernstein and Buschow Henley on various projects, including urban regeneration and housing developments in Dublin and Leeds, cultural projects like St Luke’s Old Street for the London Symphony Orchestra, and infrastructure for the 2000 Sydney Olympics.
From 2014 to 2017, Daniel served as a RIBA Councillor and participated in the Library Committee, overseeing outreach, the drawings collection, and exhibitions. He is a registered RIBA Conservation specialist and has been involved in prestigious judging panels such as the RIBA Stirling Prize. Additionally, he contributes to the Design Review Panel and Jewish Heritage UK’s Caseworker Panel, and acts as a guest critic at the Westminster School of Architecture.
Beyond his architectural contributions, Daniel has authored a children’s book, exhibited paintings at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition 2023, chairs his local residents' association, and manages an under-11s football team.
