Paul Crisp
Heritage Planner (RTPI)
I am an experienced Chartered Town Planner with extensive experience of working with heritage assets, helping to shape development to ensure that respects their significance. I have provided advice on development affecting listed buildings, conservation area, registered parks and gardens and World Heritage Sites on a range of scales, for individual high end residential dwellings to large masterplan proposals for both rural and urban developments. Whilst I often work as part of a wider consultant team, I am often asked to lead plenary sessions with architects, local planning authority conservation officers and statutory consultees (including Historic England) in order to establish a basic set of principles to inform the preparation of the masterplan. Continual review of such principles throughout the design phase, with workshop sessions with interested parties ensures that the final masterplan is robust, credible and deliverable. I have worked on a range of buildings, from a C16th timber framed building, a C18th Manor House to a C20th Festival of Britain mixed use site, providing a wide range of challenges, often involving the rapid appraisal of a site to identify areas of special interest but to also identify areas of lesser or no interest where there may be more scope for development.
