Extra Care Development by Sarah Wigglesworth Architects

Pegasus Life secured planning permission through public inquiry for a Sarah Wigglesworth Architects scheme for a C2 assisted living community at The Knowle, Sidmouth, Devon. The Design Review Panel (www.designreviewpanel.co.uk) were instructed by East Devon District Council (EDDC) to provide multidisciplinary, expert, independent and impartial guidance and feedback to the local authority, applicant and design team during the pre-application design stage.

Dan Bulmer

Urban Designer & Chartered Town Planner

Dan is an urban designer, master planner and chartered town planner with experience working on projects of varying type and scale in 13 countries. His experience has been gained in both private sector and public sector local planning authority roles in the UK.

Following graduation from Manchester, Dan worked in one of country’s busiest LPAs in Birmingham as a senior planning officer, managing a large case-load of planning applications. After graduating from post graduate degree in urban design, he returned to Manchester to work on landmark regeneration projects with EDAW (Aecom) in the role as master planner and urban designer.

Working in the Sydney studio of architects, Woods Bagot, Dan worked on regeneration housing projects in Australia and New Zealand. He managed the successful delivery of Wigram Skies, an affordable housing project in suburban Christchurch. The project on a disused aerodrome, included housing, parks and a new town centre.

Dan is very interested in urban regeneration, using place making and smart city methodologies to bring sustainable long-term benefit to communities. He is also interested in the use of technology for improving planning mechanisms and more efficient site appraisal and valuation. He has recently up-skilled his expertise to include mobile apps, HTML coding and web development to develop proptech and plantech solutions. He has used knowledge to build apps to enhance lives of disabled and elderly people.
