Graham Woodward
Landscape Architect & Urban Designer
Graham has over 35 years’ experience in landscape architecture, public realm design, masterplanning and environmental assessment work. He has worked in local authority &private practice in the UK, & has also worked overseas in Australia & Hong Kong.
Until recently, Graham has been responsible for technical excellence for the Atkins UK team of masterplanners, landscape architects and urban designers and was previously Practice Manager for the co-ordination and management of the UK Landscape and Urban Design Practice.
Since joining Atkins in 2006 he has led and played a key role in a wide range of design and assessment projects that have invariably involved multi-disciplinary teams. Projects have been carried out for key national bodies such as High Speed 2, Highways England, Network Rail and the Homes England (HE) and also major local authorities such as Birmingham City Council, Oxfordshire County Council, Lancashire County Council and Derby City Council.
Graham has also previously worked for private sector developers including David Wilson Homes, St Modwen and higher education bodies such as Birmingham City University.
Prior to joining Atkins, he headed a landscape and urban design team at Scott Wilson and was previously a Director of Gillespies in Oxford and Milton Keynes. His project experience during that period included the role of Project Director for a five-year English Partnerships (now HE) landscape term commission, masterplanning work in Saudi Arabia as well as major public realm strategies in Oxford, Wolverhampton and Cardiff.
