Extra Care Development by Sarah Wigglesworth Architects

Pegasus Life secured planning permission through public inquiry for a Sarah Wigglesworth Architects scheme for a C2 assisted living community at The Knowle, Sidmouth, Devon. The Design Review Panel (www.designreviewpanel.co.uk) were instructed by East Devon District Council (EDDC) to provide multidisciplinary, expert, independent and impartial guidance and feedback to the local authority, applicant and design team during the pre-application design stage.

John Wilde

Chartered Architect

My background has been; living, studying and working in the south-west for more than 37 years. My roles as a qualified construction professional over the past 30 years have included; Registered and Chartered Architect, Design Manager, team leader, conservation consultant and adviser, facilities manager and both Lead and Principal Designer. This has enabled me to become an "all round" construction and design professional, with wide-ranging and specialist experience at all stages of construction from; inception, through feasibility, option study and sketch design, planning and building regulations approval, detailed design, construction drawings and site supervision to handover and beyond to maintenance, repair, adaptation, extension, reuse and redevelopment. This cumulative experience gained both as a team member and leader, has enabled me to add value at every stage to projects in the; defence, civic, commercial, industrial, residential and heritage sectors - on time and on budget. I joined Babcock International Group in 2017 as a Design Manager and architect within Devonport Royal Dockyard, to assist the Team; designing, planning, managing and delivering specialist large scale infrastructure and "Modern Facilities". Within my role as a RIBA Council member and Charity Trustee I seek to promote both the art and science of architecture and to assisting in championing; better buildings, communities , the environment and with a special interest in the RIBA Chartered, Associate, Affiliate and Student members of the true south west in Devon and Cornwall.
