Laura Jenkinson
Town Planner (RTPI)
A Director in Avison Young’s London planning team, I have over thirteen years of experience advising on a variety of typically large-scale mixed use development projects across Central and Greater London across all sectors. This includes key regeneration projects such as Havering Phase 1 regeneration sites for Wates/ Havering, Blackwall Reach for Tower Hamlets and South Kilburn and Wembley regeneration projects whilst working at Brent Council. Through my experience in regional government in London, I have also worked on controversial topical planning issues such as the review of the Mayor’s protected views and the UNESCO’s mission to London to assess the impact of tall buildings on London World Heritage Sites. In 2019 I was selected to be an RIBA awards judge for the west London region, covering Westminster, Kensington and Chelsea, Brent, Ealing, Hammersmith & Fulham, Hillingdon and Hounslow. In 2019 I inputted into the latest BCO Guide for Specification. My experience is a valuable blend of both public sector and private sector experience, thus allowing me to understand the commercial reality of projects whilst also seeing the value and planning benefits from a local authority perspective that can sometimes be overlooked by the private sector.
